Family business since 1847

Berkel Unternehmungen GmbH & Co. KG is a traditional family-run company in its sixth generation with its headquarters in Ludwigshafen am Rhein. Since it was founded in 1847 by Andreas Berkel, we have developed from a small distillery into one of the ten largest independent alcohol retailers in Germany - with an annual turnover of around 50 million euros and 51 dedicated employees.

Together with our branches in Berlin and Lippstadt, we supply a wide range of industries with ethanol and other solutions in first-class quality. We take care of the entire process of ordering, logistics, order picking and customs formalities in order to offer our customers maximum convenience.

At our Pfälzische Spritfabrik in Ludwigshafen, we produce and refine ethanol and accept alcohol-containing mixtures for reprocessing or thermal recycling. In this way, we combine many years of tradition with state-of-the-art technologies to meet the growing demands of our customers and a sustainable circular economy.
